Can’t put the together

They cut nicely and came apart easily. But I cannot put them back together after I washed them. So now they are useless and a therefore waste of money. I shall have to buy new poultry shears.

Cannot get scissors back together after cleaning.

I bought these and love them but took them apart to wash and now I cannot get them back together. When I line up the open slot on the top blade with the knob on the lower blade the 2 blades will not move. I've had other brands of take apart scissors in the past and never had a problem putting them back together. I've spent an hour trying to get these scissors back together. It seems to be locked. Help!
